Export Control Guidelines:(Motor Cars and Other Motor Vehicles)
Motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons and goods but excluding vehicles exported by diplomatic and foreign representatives and new vehicles exported by local manufacturers or their appointed agents shall not be exported from the Republic of South Africa except by virtue of an export permit issued in terms of the International Trade Administration Act (Act 71 of 2002).

Export permits are issued on request on condition that all relevant vehicle details such as the make, model, year of manufacture, vehicle identification number, etc. are recorded on the applicable application form for the export permit and that the request is accompanied by a police clearance certificate.

Export permits for the exportation of vehicles are processed immediately and are normally available within minutes. Export permit application forms are also available from the above-mentioned sources.
